Intra-Team Relationships

If we consider a team of say 8 people, each team member has a unique relationship with his/her 7 colleagues, including the team leader. This means that there are 28 unique relationships within this team system; that’s a lot of individual relationships to get right, isn’t it?

Breath work; I know it works for me, but why?

I started breath work following a book recommendation from a colleague. The book was Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Marl Williams and Danny Penman published in 2011 by Piatkus: London. I can highly recommend the book, and you can access guided meditations by the authors through Soundcloud which is very helpful.

Your first 1:1 with a New Direct Report

In my leadership development work, I and the group I happen to be working with, will invariably discuss managing poor performance or team members who need to improve their performance. People managers/leaders at all levels often struggle with the first hurdle here, that of giving clear and unambiguous feedback and in a constructive manner.
